Listen, I may disagree with pro-lifers. I may think their tactics are a wee bit evil. But they aren’t, for the most part, completely idiotically insane. Until now.
Apparently, the lovely folks at the American Life League believe that the birth control pill kills. They want you to wear a t-shirt to that effect on June 7th as part of their campaign to get the pill — in fact, any birth control (I think, it’s hard to suss out their intentions from the thick rhetoric) — outlawed.
I’m consistently astounded that, in a world buckling under the weight of its drastic overpopulation, where food riots have happened in 27 countries in the past few months alone, people would be standing up against population control. Never mind their junk science or the overweening arrogance inherent in the fact that just because their god believes sex is wrong that they have the right to tell me what to do. Let’s just consider the fact that we have too many mouths to feed as it is and that the pill can limit the number of future mouths we have to feed.
let’s also remember that many of these people also oppose welfare and support for single mothers and reject sex ed in schools.
