Songs from the back of my brain

I put flax seed oil in the Child’s oatmeal and the bottle needs to be shaken, vigorously, before you pour it out. Apparently,  without being consciously aware of it, I sing a certain song by KC and the Sunshine Band while I’m doing this.

This afternoon, picking up the meds for my cat from the vet, The Child wanted to hold the bottle (totally sealed, I promise). She rattled the pills, smiled, and shook them. I said, “Shake it!”

She replied: “Shakeshakeshake, shake your booty! Shake your booooooooty!”

All the way home she sang this. Loudly.
