Saddest thing ever (not really)

Pathetic-est thing ever? Maybe.

The Sister In Law has offered to take the Child for a weekend this summer. She’s a teacher and out of school today or something, so she can do it reasonably.

We’re thinking about taking her up on the offer. The major objection right now is that we’d have to drive down to Conn., (two hour, $27 in gas), drop the kid off, drive back to Boston (another 2 hour and $27), then do it all again to pick her up. I’m not sure she’s ready for a two night stay, so it would be eight hours in the car for one night.

We are still thinking about doing it.

And you know what our plans would be? To spend that time cleaning. I need to tackle my pantry and the Husband is having connption fits over the state of our desk. Basically, we moved in and threw stuff where ever and intended to get back to it and just never did. Eighteen months later, it’s a flipping mess. So we plan to drive eight hours and spend $110 in gas so we can clean.

Pathetic-est thing ever.

maybe sister-in-law would like to spend weekend with you and take child out for the days? i used to do that with my GF-pick up her kid, take her so GF could get work done at home (grade final exams, pack when they moved).

or maybe hire a ‘mother’s helper” for 2 days for $110. you could probably get a local teen to paly with child take her to park for 6 hours a day for 2 days for $110

8 hours driving over 2 days? and THAT s presuming child does not freak in middle of night….
