My daughter’s learned game theory

The other day The Child was sucking on her grated carrots. It made an annoying noise and I told her not to, if she wanted carrot juice, I’d buy her some later.

She kept doing it. She’s three.

I told her that I would take the carrots away from her if she didn’t stop.

So she ate the rest of the carrots quietly. Up until the very last bite. Then she smiled, picked up the last bit, moved the bowl away, and said, “Now you can’t take them away from me because there aren’t any more so I’m going to make that noise!” And she proceeded to do so.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

    the classic “if i catch you doing XYZ, i’m going to be so mad!”
    “okay, all we have to do is make sure mom doesn’t catch us.”

    wait til she pulls this at 15.
